MORE ABOUT SERVICES FOR CAREER PRACTITIONERS

If you are working in the careers field, or would like to be, this new arm of services is specifically designed for you.

Being a career development practitioner is highly exciting and rewarding. But, isolation from other practitioners, confusion about what practices are effective, and lack of resources and information, are key barriers to career satisfaction and success for many in our industry.

These are all addressed in our career development support services program. The Career Dimensions team has wide-ranging experience across a range of sectors to assist those considering moving into the career industry, as well as practitioners who want to further develop their careers or to access tools, resources and relevant information to support them in their work.

Perhaps the most compelling issues relate to the continued lack of support for those wanting to develop as private career practitioners. This sector has huge potential for growth, but those who do try to make a go of it are often frustrated by a lack of small business skills, marketing knowledge, and the time and ability to manage the high level of administration required.

Our services are available to current and future career practitioners around Australia and include:

Advice and information about the career development industry generally: job roles and titles, sectors, qualification pathways, professional associations.

Career planning sessions via email, phone and face to face, to assist with your own career development needs.

Matching with a mentor with appropriate experience in the sector or specialisation you wish to move into or progress within.

Business start up support for those wanting to work as private practitioners, either full or part time.

Job opportunities, including consideration for the Career Dimensions Affiliate Program as places become available.

An internship program, linking you to one of our affiliates in a location close to you (this is currently only available to those in Victoria), providing a structured introduction to private practice.

Coaching to empower you to achieve your financial and other goals.

Supervision to reduce your sense of isolation and to enhance your work with clients.

Professional development activities that are high-quality, affordable.

Quality books and resources from Australia and around the world.
