OUTPLACEMENT AND TRANSITION COACHING PROGRAMS

Features of the Career Dimensions Outplacement Programs include:

  • One or more initial meetings with key representatives from your organisation will identify your needs and stage of change
  • Identification and implementation of strategies: we are available to work with staff prior to any organisational announcement, or at any stage of the process
  • Empowerment, coaching and support of individuals to move forward with dignity. Our comprehensive program is results oriented, and will be tailored to meet individual and organisational needs.

There are several ways we can work with you:

  1. Group workshops and seminars on change management, career development and management, current labour market information, effective job search skills and strategies, and empowerment strategies.
  2. Outplacement support to individuals, which may include:
    • Initial debrief and understanding of the initial impact of job loss and individual reactions - thoughts, feelings, behaviours and responses
    • An assessment as to the individual's readiness to move forward, and the development of effective strategies to enhance this where needed
    • Focus on new life and career goals
    • Confidence-building strategies
    • Investigation of life, health and financial issues that will impact on work choices
    • Clarification of steps required to move on to new work role - including interest and personality inventories, values and work satisfiers
    • Establishing transferable and motivated skills, highlighting achievements and successes
    • Building understanding of individual model for decision-making, self-management and risk-taking strategies
    • Generating ideas, options and viable avenues for future employment possibilities
    • Identifying networks and developing strategies and skills to make best use of these
    • Understanding of skills gaps and exploration of learning activities where these are considered valuable
    • Assistance with resume and applications, interview presentation and performance skills development
    • Creating and implementing a self-managed job search strategy including advertised positions, recruitment agencies and the hidden job market
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with recruiters, possible employers and allies in the job search process
    • Identifying alternative possibilities, including self-employment, working towards retirement or semi-retirement and/or developing a portfolio career
    • Appropriate use of the world wide web as a self-marketing tool
    • Receiving feedback and analysing experience, reviewing goals and refining strategies.
  3. Group and individual assistance to remaining staff, to minimize the impact of change, negative responses and decreases in productivity.
